This month Dr. Elcheshen talked with Terri Apostle of Winnipeg's CTV Morning Live show. She discussed the importance of sight and learning on a Tots to Teens segment highlighting one of the messages behind Children's Vision Month.

Guidelines for children's eye exams include that a child have their first eye exam by age 3, again before kindergarten and then annually through their school years. Children as young as 6 to 9 months old can also be examined if their is a concern related to their development, vision, eye muscle coordination, or family eye history. Eye exams are covered by Manitoba Health up until the age of 19.
